She's the Nita Pearson Elementary school nurse that I wrote about in December whose quick thinking led to treatment that saved 8-year-old student, Roger Zapata's life. At last week's school board meeting, Ms. Cox along with fellow Garland Independent School District nurse, Jack Buck were each honored for their efforts with children with an Evidence of Excellence Award. Congratulations!
