“I have a story for you! My sister, Kim Knopp, who is 38-years-old, and her husband, Walter Knopp, 34, live in Allen and were due to have a baby in mid-September. Early Monday morning around 2:30 AM, on Sept 3rd (Labor Day), Kim woke up and realized her water broke. She woke up Walter, grabbed their 4-year-old son, Nick, and rushed out the door. On the way to Plano Presbyterian Hospital, the couple was going to drop Nick off at Kim's parents’ house, Rick and Maryann Sobieski, who live in Plano. They reached the Sobieski house around 3:30 am. Kim and Walter dropped off their son and asked Kim's mom, Maryann, to ride with them to the hospital. Kim really wanted her mom to come along since Maryann is a Labor and Delivery nurse at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. As the three drove away from the Sobieski house, Kim said that she felt she needed to push. Maryann checked her daughter to find that she was "complete" and ready to delivery and didn't think they would make it to the hospital. They turned the car around and went back to the Sobieski house. Maryann placed trash bags on their guest room floor, while Rick called 911, and their daughter Danielle, 29, grabbed towels. Maryann went straight to work and Kim went straight to pushing. At 3:54 a.m., Maryann delivered her newest grandchild, Anna Reese Knopp. An ambulance arrived seconds after the birth and took Kim and Anna to the Plano Presbyterian Hospital. Both, mom and baby were healthy and no complications arose. Just thought I'd share this with you.”
