The Texans have not completely closed the door
on bringing David Carr back , but if they do slam it shut
where do they go from here ?
Before offering my two cents , I'd like to go on record
saying I like David Carr. I still believe he has the skills
to suceed in the N.F.L. but it maybe time for a change of scenery .

I've been to bowl games as a player and a reporter, and each
time it was a unique experience . Back in the "stone ages" before
satellite television , I was a member of the McNeese State football
team that went to two Independence bowls .
The Cowboys were a division 1 school then and our conference
winner got an automatic berth in the bowl game.
As a player it was always something to look forward to ,
but it was the experience leading up to the game that blew me away.

Keith Jones , McGrady could be out 2 more days or 2 more weeks .

Did you hear Al Michaels on Sunday Night Football
after Reggie Bush grabbed a short pass and turned
it into a 61 yard touchdown. He said ,"If I were a Texans
fan I would be wondering what in the hell they were
doing passing on Reggie Bush in the draft."
John Madden added , "I'd draft Bush for anything, he's that good."
So before you blame all the Texans problems on David Carr,
remember he's not in charge of personnel decisions.

The big picture of Andy Pettitte returning to the Yankees
is something not everyone can relate to .
If my wife and I are struggling to pay the rent on 30 thousand dollars
a year , it would be tough to have any sympathy for Pettitte or the Astros .
Its a billionaire vs a millionaire so everything's relative .
This was really all about respect . Pettitte said for 14 million a year
he would have stayed in Houston. Believe it or not , that price was
under the going rate for pitcher with Andy's skills and experience.
