I've had trouble reaching players reacting to new manager ....as expected .... But I did reach relief pitcher Tim Byrdak at his home in Chicago. He says," I don't know much about him ...just what I've read. Coming from the Red Sox is interesting. I think it's great, he'll bring a different viewpoint to the team." Byrdak wasn't critical of former manager Cecil Cooper but he did say,"I think we're moving in the right direction. I don't know if it was complacency or what but every year we seem to get off to a bad start and we're always trying to catch up after April. Maybe with a new way of doing things we can be on top after the first month and take off from there." |
