The Texans rank 2nd in the entire NFL in first downs per game, 4th in time of possession per game ...and 5th in overall offense. That's right it's not the Patriots or the Colts we're talking about here ... it's your Houston Texans.

Center Chris Myers ...one of the guys GM Rick Smith traded for this past off-season ...tells me,"It was great when I got here. It seemed like I knew half the team from either college or the pros and they were running the exact same offensive scheme ... it was great to feel comfortable right away." Of course ...feeling comfortable on the practice field didn't automatically translate into immediate wins for Houston ... but the O-line is coming around big time. Myers knew Kubiak and Smith went out on a limb to get him ....so he wanted to perform well. "It's great to know the head coach is behind you ....even if you struggle abit .. he knows you'll get the job done."

Popular guard Chester Pitts wasn't around for Wednesday's media session ....he was in the training room getting treatment for an undisclosed ache or pain. He has to be happy with the development of this offensive line .... after so many have gone through the revolving doors .... on the line around him over the past few years.

I was complimenting Sage on the way he handled the aftermath of the "crater job" against Indianapolis ...and he said,:"Thanks ... but honestly I don't even remember half of it." Really?? Wow ...that is scary!! Apparantly his brain was basically on autopilot in that game ....after he got clobbered by 3 defenders while running for a first down. That's scary!!
