The Colorado State Gang

When Gary Kubiak left the Broncos to become Head Coach of the Texans, it opened up a pipeline from Denver to Houston bringing in players, coaches, and front office personnel. It wasn't long before Rick Smith followed becoming the General Manager. After that the floodgates opened for a host of their former players.
At one point, the migration flowed so freely, the Texans unoffical nickname was "Denver South".

But right now the Team has more of a Ft. Collins flavor to it. The Texans have 5 players from Colorado State on the roster, as they prepare to face the Broncos in their preseason opener on Saturday.
You can bet the farm, the five ex- Rams will be trying to make a good impression. "The Colorado State Gang", includes wide out David Anderson, sure handed tightend Joel Dressen, Cornerback Dexter Wynn is the veteran, Mike Brisel is a starting guard, and the youngest member of the group is rookie defensive end Jessie Nading.
"I guess Kubiak is familiar with guys up there , his son went to Colorado State so I guess he had a chance to see a lot of us," said Wynn. Having so many familiar faces around has been a real plus for a rookie like Nading.
"Its nice to have people you can go to for advice, when you're trying to make a team there are a lot of ups and downs, so its nice to have people you know to help you out."

But this C.S.U. connection goes way beyond the football field. Anderson, Brisel, and Dressen actually live together. I asked Anderson if the other guys were neat around the house and he said, "No, no way, actually, Joel is rather neat and he cooks. He's amazing, but biscut, Brisel, no way." If past history continues, the Broncos game might be an audition for future Texans players.
