W.N.B.A. Fight Club?

Hey, did you catch the fight at the Palace in Auburn Hills. It was actually a basketball game, but at one point it was hard to tell. With just a little imagination, you could picture ring announcer Michael Buffer doing his thing.

"In this corner checking in at 6'5 and 170 pounds, Lisa Lesss-lieeee! In the other corner weighing in at slightly less than a tank , at 6'10 and well over 3 bills, Rick MaHornnn!" Well, they didn't really square off , but it was a W.-N.B.A. brawl.
That's right, I said W.-N.B.A. brawl! It hasn't happened much in the 12 years of the league, but if boys will be boys, why can't girls be girls.
I firmly believe that a woman can do whatever a man can. I tell this to my daughter every week. But just because
a woman can, doesn't make it any less ugly when the situation gets out of hand. On Tuesday night it really got out of hand.

With 4.6 seconds to go, Detroit's Plenette Pierson made a ridiculous blockout on Candace Parker pushing her almost to halfcourt before Parker fell down.
That's when Pierson felt the need to stand over Parker and do a little trash talking.
So Parker decided to pull her to the ground, and that's when Deanna Nolan jumped on Parker. Both benches emptied.

It wasn't nearly as ugly as the Pacers-Pistons brawl in 2004, but there were punches thrown, which brings me back to Mahon and Leslie. Mahorn said he was playing peacemaker. Leslie said she didn't know why he pushed her down.
I examined the tape like Jim Garrison going over the Zapruder Film, and Mahorn might have a point.
It appeared he was only trying to keep Leslie away from the brawl. But he's a big fella , and big fellas don't always know how strong they really are. Mahorn said, "I would never push a woman". He was ejected from the game along with 3 players. Another player left the floor in a wheelchair with a sprained knee. It all just seems pretty stupid.
Its stupid when the men do it, and its just as stupid when the women do it. People go to hockey games to see fights, they go to basketball games to see basketball.
That's the case whether it's the men or the women playing.
