Around noon on Thursday I stopped off at the Crowne Plaza near Reliant Park,
to checkout the weigh-in for Friday's fight card at Reliant Arena.
The event is being hyped as "The Return of theLegends."
Christy Martin is fighting, the legendary Angelo Dundee will be there, but it was
Hector "Macho" Camacho who stole the show at the weigh -in.
First of all, "Macho" made his entrance in typical "Macho Man" fashion wearing
nothing but white sweat pants. Apparently no shirt was required. To quote my photographer Frank McBride, "the only thing he had on his back was the two championship
belts he strolled out with. Hector was nice enough entertaining the crowd with a little
shadow boxing . He also patiently took pictures and signed autographs.
In fact, "Macho Man" was a perfect gentleman until it was time for him to weigh-in.
Camacho whipped off his white sweat pants and asked the audience if they liked his
tattoo. It was at that point I realized "Macho" was over exposed. He was standing there
wearing only his birthday suit. Not an ounce of modesty in his 152 pounds.
Hector was wearing what the good Lord gave him, and he was proud.
If there was a tattoo no one saw it because they were trying not to stare.
I was happy to see Hector fighting again, you won't find a better showman.
Only next time "Macho" you don't have to show so much.
