U.H. Is Two Wins Away From NCAA

Not that head coach Kyla Holas will let her young women get ahead of themselves .... but at the same time she says it's a positive that they're looking ahead to something possibly historic for the school. "Sometimes this enthusiasm is just something that you can't bottle and you hopwe each player goes out there with thus much passion and fire within them."

The Cougars have to beat University of Louisiana-Lafayette twice this weekend in order to advance into the Softball World Series up in Oklahoma City. The two teams split a double-header during the regulat season. U.H. was the #8 seed in the country .... U.L.L. was a lower seed .... but this weekend's opponent is loaded with talent," Everyone predicted in the beginning of the year that with their pitcher .. they would be in the World Series."

The Cougars counter though with their own great pitcher. Righthander Angel Shamblin is one of the best in the country. She's won 35 times this season ...and over the weekend in the NCAA Regional she fired a no-hitter, a one-hitter and a two-hitter. She also struck out 23 batters. The Cougars are pumped up about this opportunity. They'll be hosting the Super-Regional ...and if you want to see a group of athletes who believe in the team above the individual ....you should go check the action out . It begins Friday night at U.H.
