The Texans began their 13 OTA'S ...or On The Field Activities Monday ... but star wide receiver Andre Johnson didn't take place in full-scale practices. He had his troublesome knee scoped after last year's mini-camp sessions and although he says he feels much better about it .......he'll be limited in his activity until training camp in July. "He wasn't real comfortable coming out of camp," said Texans head coach Gary Kubiak. "So we said let's scope it and see if there are any issues. Everything was fine... they cleaned it up. Now he feels good about it ...he's not gonna be hurt missing some of these reps ...now we just want to get him 100% and get him ready to go." I asked Andre if his knee hurt more when he was pushing off from the line of scrimmage or when he was cutting. He said,"No ....just when I ran period it was bothering me on the inside of my knee. It was just something that got real aggravating." Johnson told us that he had pain last year in the knee ....but just played with it. He explained that basically as the season wore on in 2007 .... he took only a few reps during practices ....and just concentrated on getting ready to play in the Texans' games. The Texans and their fans ..... have to not only hope for a speedy recovery ... but also hope that this injury will not slow the Texans top receiver. |
