I wasn't really looking forward to the next 2 weeks on the PGA Tour. Basically, it was going to be 14 days without Tiger, but I figured I could bite the bullet until he returned to defend his crown at the Wachovia Championship .
But "holy nike Batman", now its going to be 4 to 6 weeks because the "King of Swing" had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee for the second time in 5 years.
Don't get me wrong , it was great watching Trevor Immelman marching to his first green jacket at the Masters.
You can't say anything negative about Immelman, that guy has game and is to legit to quit. But I like to see the best.
The Tiger swagger when the rest of the field is shaking in their boots . How about the fist pump at the end of a 70 footer for birdie ? What about the blind hook between the trees that lands softly on the green? All Tiger trademarks , all gone for 4 to 6 weeks because of knee surgery . Woods will probably also miss the Players Championship , but should be back in time for the U.S. Open on June 12th at Torry Pines.

I don't know if Bo Weekly telling tales about roasting squirrels with Mike Huckabee can really hold my attention.
Actually I think it was Huckabee cooking the squirrels while he was in college, either way its just not that interesting .
There's really only so much you can say about Ian Poulter's pants. Brandt Snedeker's smile was captivating for awhile but turned to tears in the wake of a 77, and a tie for 3rd at Augusta.

However, there might be something positive about a Tigerfree zone . There should be some real competition on tour now . Maybe some unknown talent will jump up and catch our fancy . But just like people wanted their MTV in the 80's , I want my Tiger. Its a known fact , when Tiger is not playing the ratings for golf on tv go down. When Tiger is on the course we have come to expect the unexpected . Now is the time for someone to step up and show a stellar game with some personality. Phil Mickelson doesn't have as many wins as Woods but he is the people's champion.
He already has the public's hearts and minds , and a couple of victories while Woods is rehabbing would help to ease the no Tiger void .
