Too much is being made lately about who's at fault. The Rockets trail the Jazz 3 games to 1, and while it's more fun to point fingers it's really of little consequence.
Following the loss in game two, one writer claimed "Tracy McGrady disappeared in the fourth quarter." Here's a guy who came within one assist from a triple double and he supposedly "disappeared" because he was held scoreless in the final stanza. What a croc, Tracy was out there pushing as hard as he could. Basketball is a team game, so when he was double or triple teamed, he gave the ball up. As a team the Rockets couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, it happens.
Game three was supposed to be a Jazz landslide. It wasn't. Point guard Rafer Alston returned from his hamstring problem and played better than anyone expected. The Rockets won and silenced the critics. But after a game four loss, there's more finger pointing. Let's be real, did anyone think the Jazz who had the best home record during the regular season would lose two straight at home? The Rockets were facing tremendous odds, and nearly pulled it off.
Is the series over? Maybe, but then again maybe not. The Rockets have played well at home this season, and they can be loose Tuesday night. A victory at home and the series shifts back to Utah and all sorts of questions will confront the Jazz.
What's that about when you point one finger, three are pointing back at you. Taking the blame or dishing out the blame shouldn't be the storyline of this series. Just play.
