Okam says he believes he dropped to the 5th round ....because of teams' concerns over his interest in going to law school ...and his weight. He's big ...very big. But Texans Defensive Coordinator Richard Smith says Okam came in for an interview about a week ago ...and convinced him that football was very important to him. Smith knows the rap on Okam is that he took too many plays off this past season ....so many people were concerned about his passion for the game. Smith says after talking to him ....he's not worried about that. Smith is thrilled to get a big guy for the middle of the defensive front though. Okam could be a great run stuffer. Okam drew up in Dallas and grew up as a Cowboys fan ....but because his college roomates were both from Houston ....he says Houston is one of his favorite cities.

As for linebacker Xavier Adibi ...I just talked more with Smith about him ...and the Texans will plan on leaving him at the outside linebacker spot. I asked if he was looking for someone to rush off the edge .....but Smith said no ... more than anything ...he's quick with good hops ....and he can cover receivers in space ....plus close and contain the run well. Smith really likes him He also really likes Antwaun Molden ..the corner they got out of Eastern Kentucky. They were afraid he'd be gone before they go to their pick ....but Smith said he was very happy that he was available at the 79th pick overall.
