I'll have to take a break at halftime .....and I'll have to stop blogging for my 10pm live report on 11 News ....but I'll be blogging up until that point.

The early action .... I thought was controlled by Mexico.
The first goal .... .totally took Mexico by surprise .... off of an unlikely high backwards assist kick by Landon Donovan. When Oguchi Onyewu knocked it in ...... the US went up 1-nothing ....and the crowd was stunned.

Then only a short while later ... Mexico scored on a Pavel pardo free kick to Jonny Magallon to make it 1-1. It was a great effort by Magallon.!!

then in the 40th minute ....only 5 minutes later ..... the US scored again .... this time on a long pass from Drew Moor to Jozy Altidore. Altidore did a great job of redirecting the pass ...as he used the left side of his head ....to bash the ball right into the net. That made it 2-1 US and that's where we stand at halftime.
