Duncan ... is a Republican from Tennessee.
He's making a statement ....defending the committee's stance .. that this meeting is important today. Duncan says the case against Clemens is weak .....but he asks for clarification .... on whether or not ....he was avoiding the Mitchell investigators.

Clemens now explains that he was never told by his baseball agent or the players association to go meet with Mitchell. He now is telling about how he got ready to play for Team USA in the World Baseball Tournament a couple of years ago. He said he has represented the country whenever asked ...and Bud Selig and Senator Mitchell could have found him ....if they really wanted to. Clemens says,"I'm a public figure ..I'm real easy to find."
