The ownership changeover for the Dynamo is beginning to happen. According to my sources ..... Golden Boy Promotions ... owned by pro boxer Oscar DeLoya .... along with Brener International Group .... has agreed in principle to buy 50% of the Dynamo team. How this will affect the current negotiations to get the team's new stadium built downtown is up in the air ..but this would seem to be a positive step in that regard. AEG ...the current owner of the Dynamo ... has been hedging on putting up anymore money to build the stadium at this point ...and the City of Houston .... apparantly just wants to donate the land for the stadium ...... and no cash. Maybe this infusion of new money will break up that logjam. The deal is expected to be officially announced before the end of this week. As for the new player ...he's 21 year old forward Franco Caraccio from Argentina. Caraccio was on Argentina's Under 20 national team at one point ....so he's definately one of the best young players that country has to offer. He's agreed in principle to a contract to play for the Dynamo. The official announcement is expected at a Wednesday afternoon news conference. |
