Kubiak said the post-Christmas practice went very well ...and his players came to work. Look for Sage Rosenfels to start against the Jaguars Sunday in Reliant Stadium ....but Matt Schaub ...still recovering from his dislocated shouder .....saw his most action since the injury. Schaub played mostly on scout team but he did take a few snaps with the Texans offensive unit as he wore his protective brace under his pads. After practice Kubiak maintained his position that he'll try to get Schaub in the game if at all possible ....just to see what he can do.

Darius Walker ....the rookie out of Notre Dame ..... continues to make the most of his opportunity at running back. He played every snap last week in Indianapolis and Kubiak says he's getting better each week.

Defensive end Anthony Weaver didn't really practice today .....even though he was on the field. He was doing some non-contact stuff with his teammates but with his shoulder strapped .... he was really limited. Talking with Kubiak ....it would appear that Earl Cochran ...a 2nd year player out of Alabama State will get the lion's share of snaps at that position ....if Weaver can't go Sunday.

Kubiak has a lot of respect for Jaugars coach Jack Del Rio. Kubiak says he's known Del Rio for a longtime ....because he played at the same time Kubiaka did. But he always respected the way the Jaguars played defense even when Kubiak was at Denver. Del Rio is not a media or fan favorite in Jacksonville ....but all he seems to do is win. Kubiak says he "respects the way that Jack's teams play great defense and take care of the football. He came in there with an idea of how win ....and he's done so.

Kubiak, of course, is trying to win in a different manner here in Houston ......but watching Del Rio do it "his way" despite his detractors ..... gives encouragement to Kubiak. Winning Sunday though ..... would give Kubiak even more. It would mark the first time in franchise history that the Texans had won 8 games.
