As the Dynamo won the MLS Western Conference title .... they also lost one of their key players to injury. Forward Brian Ching went out with a calf injury ....and according to team president Oliver Luck .... the team fears that Ching will miss the MLS title game next Sunday afternoon in Washington D.C. If Ching doesn't play Joseph Ngwenya will take his spot as he did Saturday night. Ngwenya is a talented player with a great skill set .....but the loss of Ching would be huge. He's been a stalwart performer for the Dynamo ever since the team arrived in town ...(he scored goals in the team's first game here last year .....and has been a fan favorite ever since. Ching's physical presence is such a plus for the Dynamo ...and his hard-nosed yet clean play will be sorely missed. Luck said what concerned him so much is that Ching went down without getting hit. Luck said the replay showed Ching just went down holding his leg ...and according to Luck it's a serious calf injury. Being a former NFL player and the man in charge of NFL Europe ....Luck knows alot about injuries. But for the Dynamo's sake ....let's hope his layman's medical opinion is wrong. Otherwise it's going to be doubly tough for the Dynamo to defeat the New England Revolution for a 2nd straight year. |
