Houston Texan fans were burning up the phone lines Monday to chat about Sunday's impressive win over the Carolina Panthers.
This city is suddenly madly in love with Matt, Mario and the boys. But that's not all they were talking about on the sports talk shows. David Carr's fashion taste was also a hot topic. The former Texan and current Panther was sporting a lovely pair of little white gloves. They reminded me of the gloves little girls wear to church on Easter Sunday. AOL writer David Warner compared Carr to Michael Jackson and/or Mickey Mouse. Carr was asked about the gloves during the preseason. "You get good grip with it, you don't have to lick your fingers and tell the defense you're throwing the ball every time you walk to the line of scrimmage. I feel like I have better security with the football in the pocket. ... It can make a big difference if you're used to it," he told Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald. Former Oiler Quarterback Giff Nielsen said he could relate. "Hey, your hands are always between the center's legs... I wish they had white gloves when I was playing," Giff said. At least they've stopped talking about Carr's hair. Sources: AOL & Getty Images
