The wait is over. The Houston Dynamo will visit the White House and meet with President George W. Bush on Tuesday, May 29, to celebrate the team’s 2006 MLS Cup Championship. The Dynamo becomes only the second MLS team to be honored at the White House. “This is a tremendous honor for the Dynamo, given the instant success our franchise had in our new home,” said team President Oliver Luck. “We are grateful that President Bush could plan time from his busy schedule to visit with us.” The White House visit will come three days after the Dynamo plays D.C. United at RFK Stadium. The team will display the MLS Cup in the East Wing, and will present President Bush with mementos from the 2006 Championship Season. “We’re very honored to be invited to the White House” said Dynamo Captain Wade Barrett. “It was a fantastic achievement for us last year, and another in the latest of championships in the state of Texas. We’re glad to represent that with the President.” |
