Zabransky agrees to terms with the Texans

It was the best Bowl game of the season. Boise State's 43-42 overtime victory against Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. Not only it elevated the guys from the "smurf turf" to national prominence, it made a name for Jared Zabransky.
Zabransky was the quarterback who engineered the drive which knocked off the Sooners after it looked the Broncos were a goner.
Late in the game Zabransky was picked off and the pass returned for a touchdown as it looked like Boise State would lose a heart breaker to Oklahoma. The pundits could easily have said, good team, nice season have a good time back in Idaho.
But the Broncos then pulled out all the stops. Down to their last gasp Boise State pulled off a perfect hook and lateral to match an Oklahoma touchdown and then they went for broke, they decided to go for two.
The "Statue of Liberty" play maybe one of the oldest trick plays in the books, but nonetheless, it fooled Oklahoma as the embarassed Sooners headed back to Norman stunned.
Today the Texans and Zabransky agreed to terms on a free agent contract. He's still a longshot to make the team, but he could find a roster spot on the practice squad. Still Zabransky knows all about being a longshot. Boise State wasn't given much of a chance to make it to a BCS Bowl like Fiesta, let alone win it.
