Hidalgo Stadium in Pachuca, Mexico is alive tonight. Every seat is full and the fans are standing at least 10 deep at each entrance to the stadium trying to get in. The only places that aren't jammed with people are some of the corporate suites.
I wondered what type of turnout we would because even though everyone gets in free tonight I have been told that the fans here consider the MLS the level of a college league.
I told that to Dynamo President Oliver Luck and he said, "Well if that's the case then we're the SEC!"
Luck is not only here to cheer on his team but to also do some fact finding for his proposed new stadium back in either Houston or Sugar Land.
As I write this, we are only a few moments away from the start of this match. The crowd is totally revved up. Earlier when some Dynamo players went onto the field to warm up they were greeted by loud whistles and jeers.
The teams were just introduced after the playing of the Mexican national anthem.
The Dynamo are in Orange uniforms trimmed in white while Pachuca is in home white uniforms trimmed in blue.
This is going to be fun. Stay tuned throughout the night!
