The Dynamo went down to defeat Thursday night to the Tuzos of Pachuca, but they have nothing to hang their heads about.
In fact, it's the referee in this game that should hang his head according to Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear. Pachuca outscored the Dynamo 5 goals to 2 in this match that lasted past the regulation 90 minutes and through two 15 minute extra periods. The final aggregate score for the CONCACAF semi final series was Pachuca 5 - Houston 4.

Thursday's match was a high altitude marathon to say the least. Kinnear's complaints about the officiating were echoed by his players and many observers of this CONCACAF match. Kinnear said the referee who is from Canada should retire from the sport after this match.

Kinnear went on to say, "At least I know my players will be able to sleep tonight. I don't know about the referee."
The biggest disputes that Kinnear had with the officiating came on the two penalty kicks for Pachuca (Houston had none) and the fact that Pachuca's deciding goal was scored after time had expired in the first overtime period.
Matt's postgame report
This match was similar to the one played back in Houston between these two teams, in that Pachuca played well in the first half and Houston did not. But in the second half, the Dynamo actually outplayed the Tuzos and both Dwayne DeRosario and Brian Ching had great scoring opportunities late that were denied by the Pachuca goalkeeper, Miguel Calero.
It was a great match played before a capacity crowd on a clear, crisp night in Pachuca, Mexico. The Tuzo fans will have great memories of this night while the Dynamo players can only hope that this experience will help them towards winning their second straight MLS Cup. They knew this match would be tough but as they leave Mexico, they can hold their heads up high after giving an outstanding effort.
