According to free agent linebacker Danny Clark .... he has signed a deal to play for the Texans. The team has not confirmed the signing at this time ... but I expect a news conference to be held later today.
The 6-2, 245 pound Clark is hungry to get back on the playing field after being relegated to the bench last year in New Orleans. Clark was a regular starter for the Raiders in 2004 and 2005. He was waived by the Raiders in early September last year...then signed by the Saints. Clark told me yesterday that he wouldn't be interested in the Texans if he didn't think the organization would give him a legitimate shot at starting. The Texans also are interviewing another defensive player today .. defensive tackle James Reed.
