The biggest "American Idol" might be Tiger Woods, and he
can't really carry a tune . But a lot of his critics are singing loudly
about Mr. Woods pulling out of the Nissan Open next week.
They say Tiger is ducking a course he always has trouble with,
just to keep his pursuit of Byron Nelson's 11 straight tour wins alive .
I say so what . Even if he is ducking the tournament, and I don't
believe he is . In the sport of golf you can run , but there is really no place to hide.
Golf is not like football, basketball, or baseball. In those sports you
run into the Oakland Raiders, Memphis Grizzlies , or Pittsburgh Pirates
every once in awhile . With golf there is no such thing as an easy outing .
You can play courses that are better suited to your game , but it always comes
down to you vs more than a 100 of the world's best golfers.
Plus to win a golf tournament, you need your "A-game" for 4 straight days .
The bottom line is no matter where you play , you still have to play well to win.
Look its very hard to believe that Tiger Woods would be ducking any tournament,
or any player. Just look at the way he's dominated the game.
The man has taken on all comers on his way to becoming
the best golfer on the planet .
Anyway you slice it Byron Nelson's 11 straight wins is an outstanding achievement .
So is Tiger winning 7 straight, and that's why they own
the two longest winning streaks in the history of the sport.
