The gossip has been hot and heavy for sometime that "Jake the Snake"
will be reunited with kubiak in Houston . Its like "Sting" putting "The Police"
back together for the Grammys. On the surface it sounded like a great idea,
until you got to see them perform. The music wasn't as good as you remembered,
and they were older, a lot older.
Maybe Plummer and Kubiak have some magic left in the tank, who knows .
Its hard to believe coach K. has any confidence left in Carr.
On Tuesday, General Manager Rick Smith confirmed the Texans had recieved
calls about Carr's availability .
Near the end of the season Kubiak's play calling was so conservative ,
Rush Limbaugh gave it 2 thumbs up .
He didn't trust David to protect the football, and after games at Oakland and
New England who could blame him.
A change of scenery could work wonders for Carr , while a trade could
also help the Texans. Its really hard to believe Carr will be able to rehabilitate himself
in Houston, but with a new team and a fresh start, anything is possible .
But is putting the band back together with Plummer the answer ?
Sure he's 32 and 11 in 3 seasons with Kubiak, but Jake the Snake also
throws a lot of interceptions. Also, the Texans offensive line isn't as good as the Bronco's
so would Jake the Snake be able to deal with non stop pressure .
It might come down to the fact that Plummer is still a confident quarterback,
while Carr's confidence is shakey at best . Its not all his fault , the guy
has been sacked 250 times which would make all of us a little jumpy .
Usually the devil you know is better than the one you don't , but in this case
it really might come down to an old "Carr" or a new "Plummer".
