Astros signed sealed but are they ready to deliver?

With the news today from the Astros that they have settled all of their arbitration eligible players contracts, will that be enough to win a World Series Championship? After all, anything less than that is now unacceptable around here and Owner Drayton McLane continues to remind us of that whenever we see him. Hats of to Tim Purpura and his staff for getting the deals done as we are about three weeks away from pitchers and catchers reporting to Kissimmee. Under contract today, Morgan Ensberg, Adam Everett and Jason Lane but does that news excite the heck out of you. It would me if Ensberg has a season anywhere close to what he had in 2005. You pretty well know what you got with Everett and Lane will be a fill in in the outfield but Ensberg is the key. If he could stay healthy and hit with power, he could protect Carlos Lee who is here to protect Lance Berkman and you get the picture. It could be a powerful lineup.
In case you haven't noticed, there is a new standard in town and Astros fans want to be right in the middle of things come October. Their success in the past has been built around pitching and that is a whole other subject but if they can hit and run along with playing defense, maybe the arms will come. Are you listening Roger?
