Texans owner Bob McNair will hear the shouts from the disgruntled fans
all week long. Why didn't you draft Reggie ? Why didn't you draft Vince?
Why did you keep David Carr ?
After Vince Young dashed 39 yards to beat his hometown
team in their stadium , near the place where he grew makes all
of those good questions .
Who's really responsible for this situation? Charley Casserly not
around anymore so you know he'll get thrown under the bus .
Especially since his track record here wasn't so great anyway.
Its really hard to believe Mario Williams wasn't Gary Kubiak's choice.
I know he was the new guy on the block, But its hard to imagine he would
take over a Team with the no. 1 pick in the draft and not be able
to choose his own guy. Mario Williams can still pan out for the Texans ,
its just that on days like Sunday its hard to look that far into the future.
What about David Carr ? It appears this might be the end of the line
for him in Houston. On Sunday , it appeared Jeff Fisher had more
trust in V.Y. then Kubiak had in Carr.
Is trust in David a factor in the play calling? Do the Texans really trust
him to make the big throws into coverages .
V.Y. looked like he had the green light to zing the ball where ever he
pleased. He was able to hit enough deep balls to spread the field
make some room for Travis Henry and Chris Brown.
Look the bottom line is clear . The Texans still have some issues
to workout .Would David Carr be a better quarterback with a
healthy Dommanick Davis ? What about if the Texans had drafted
Reggie Bush ? Of course he would , but just how good we'll never know.
What's done is done, now its time to move on and try to learn from the past .
Once the Texans start winning some football games it will be easier
to stop saying we could have had Vince and Reggie.
