The Titans have a special offensive package for Young.
At times it looks an awful lot like what he was
doing at the University of Texas .
Trust me , for now , there is nothing wrong with that.
Young's 19 yard touchdown run was a play he ran a thousand times
for the Longhorns. Give the Titans credit for doing everything
they can to make Vince comfortable with their system.
Maybe the Texans should have done the same with Mario Williams,
instead of moving around on the defensive line .
Williams is settling into one position now and it appears to be
helping his transition, and his confidence. But lets get back to Vince .
He almost stunned the N.F.L. with a victory over the big bad Colts.
The 14-13 loss to Indy was just another part of the learning process.
As for Reggie Bush, He's been helping the Saints since day 1.
First it was contributing to the Katrina rebuilding effort , then it
was helping to sellout the home games , now its helping
win some games .
On Sunday vs Tampa Bay, he gave everyone a peek at why so many
people thought he should have been the no. 1 player slected in
the draft. With the Saints trailing , he hauled in a punt and returned
it 65 yards for a game changing touchdown.
I don't know about you, but for me it was like watching
lightning strike . In less than ten seconds he changed the
whole complexion of the game, and the Saints went home happy
with another win.
Like Young , it was Bush's first touchdown as a pro, and no doubt
there are many more to come.
Finally , watching Matt Leinart take on the Chiefs, the rookie appeared
to be way ahead of the learning curve.
It was his first start but he played with the poise, and confidence
of a golfer betting ten dollars he'll make a putt , knowing he only
has five in his pocket.
We don't know what the next game will bring for Leinart, but we do
know his two touchdown passes and 250 yards openned many eyes.
The Cardinals wanted to bring him around slowly, but "turnover Kurt "
made that impossible.
At some point Leinart will struggle , its just part of the process.
But moving him into the starting lineup now , might end up being the
best thing the Cardinals could have done for their future.
