Wells has missed much of the Rockets preseason for a variety of reasons.
But at this point , its not time to push the panic button
and question his commitment to winning in Houston.

I think its way to early for that. Jeff Van Gundy never has, and
never will let one person "T.O." (Terrell Owens) his team.

Bonzi came in and missed half of training camp in Austin with a groin injury.
Later, not one , but two root canals sidelined him for almost a week.
And last week , he missed a few days for personal reason.

Rockets officals told me when Bonzi wasn't traveling with
the team , he was doing conditioning work with a trainer at
Toyota Center.

For a veteran like Wells , the Rockets believe conditioning is the most
important thing. So even if Wells only plays a few minutes tonight
vs Orlando , it doesn't mean he's not working .

Van gundy admitted Bonzi missing so much time has slowed
down his progress in learning the offense and defense.

But at this point , the Rockets see no reason why Wells
won't be playing a major role on this team.

After all, what did Allen Iverson call it "practice , practice,
man you're talking about missing practice".
I guess practice doesn't always make perfect .
