Texans can't slow down Redskins.

Redskins quarterback Mark Brunell didn't have a Hallmark moment,
he had a Hallmark game .
Mark cared enough to send his very best effort
in a 31- to 15 rout of the Texans.

Now I realize this is a new year , with a new coaching staff , and new
players , but it looks an awful lot like last year.

After an openning drive covered 66 yards on 4 plays,
and ended with a David Carr to Mark Bruener touchdown pass ,
the Texans offense didn't score again until late in the 4th quarter.
But in between , it was all Redskins .

In 2 games , Washington had only scored one touchdown,
but they made up for it today.
The Texans stopped the Redskins cold on their first possession
forcing a 3-and out , but it was all down hill after that .

At times, like a lot of fans , I found it hard to watch . Clinton Portis ran for 86 yards ,
his backup Ledell Betts rushed for 124 stripes, and they both scored touchdowns .
Portis also grabbed 2 passes for 78 yards .

Its really tough to point out what the problems were on defense,
because they appeared to be everywhere.
The Texans couldn't stop the run, or the pass , there was no
pressure on the quarterback, as Washington picked up
495 yards of offense.

Meanwhile , Mark Brunell tossed a touchdown pass and set
an NFL record for completions , connecting on 22 straight passes .

The bottom line is , the Texans are 0-and 3 and they have
to do something to get better.

After the game coach Gary Kubiak said ,"We'll have to take a hard look
at what we are doing , how we are doing it ,and who we are doing it with."
I think Kubiak is determined to make this a better , and it appears
he's going to put the players on the hotseat with him.
