Maybe its just the baseball gods getting even with
the Astros, but a September run to the playoffs is
starting to look more and more remote .
The Phillies topped the Astros 6-4 on Sunday completing
a weekend sweep at Minute Maid, leaving the Astros
6 and a half games back in the race for the wildcard.
Wandy Rodriguez took the mound on Sunday and
surrender 3 runs over the first 3 innings .
The big hits came in the 3rd when Jimmy Rollins
and Ryan Howard homered .
For Howard , the major league leader in home runs
his solo shot was number 57 on the year.
Craig Biggio broke an 0-for -30 streak at the plate,
leading off with a home run in the 6th.
Randy Wolf also gave up a 2 run homer to Aubrey Huff
in the same frame.
The Astros actually closed to 6-4 on Lance Berkman's
homer in the 8th , but Flash Gordon worked the 9th
for his 31st save as the Phillies held off the Astros 6-4.
The Astros will open a series vs the Reds starting on
Monday.
