It's not going the Astros way!!!!!

I was talking to Roger Clemens earlier today. He just got back from Minute Maid Park where he was testing his injured groin and he told me although it wasn't totally 100% he felt like he was on course to start Friday night when the team opens it's final homestand of the year playing Philadelphia. But the big question, is it too late for the Astros to make the playoffs?
In the last couple of years, you could feel the momentum building with this club coming down the stretch. They were doing incredible things on the field and the fans around here were anticipating every game knowing the Astros were going to win. This year, the feeling is... what's going to happen wrong today. Last night Andy Pettitte had to miss a start after slightly spraining his ankle Saturday night shagging balls during batting practice in Milwaukee. It just seems like it's one negative thing after another with this team right now and that is sad because I think they have better players this year than they had last year when they went to the World Series.

Astros manager Phil Garner said earlier today on his radio show with Charlie Pallilo that the Astros have 19 games left in the regular sesaon and Charlie said, "If you go fourteen and five, will you make the playoffs?" Garner was quick with his answer saying "no, it will take more than that." So really the only chance for postseason bliss according to the man who leads them is to stop all the little setbacks from happening, play perfect baseball and hope the five teams in front of them somehow hit a wall during the most exciting time of the year. It just doesn't seem likes it's going to happen but before we bury them, let us never forget we've seen baseball miracles the last two years..
