It was the most relaxed clubhouse I've ever been in.
Craig Biggio was telling me how he's been a life long Redskins fan,
Jason Hirsh was checking out ESPN, and Aubrey Huff was
catching up on his reading.
This team has nothing to lose , so they are letting it all
hang out and its working.
The proof is in Luke Scott's 3-run walk off homer on
Saturday night, giving the Astros a 7-to-4 victory
over the Cardinals , their third consective win over the Red Birds.
We all remember how the Astros have taken
us down this road before , a late season charge into
the post season.
Its late in the 12th round and the Astros are trapped on
the ropes, but they are determined to go down swinging.
Right now I'm seeing some of the same magic we've
scene in the past . This team is getting its confidence back,
and its showing on the field .
Luke Scott has really stepped up big , and
Saturday night was just another example .
He had 2 homers and 5 runs batted in , putting the Astros
offense on his back.
Aubrey Huff also homered , his 11th for the Astros and 19th
overall.
It all makes me anixous to see Sunday's game when
the Astros send Roger Clemens to the hill for his final
home start of the season.
Should the astros sweep the Cardinals , they would go on the road
trailing the Red Birds by only 3 and a half games in the race
for the division championship .
