We got on our bus and headed to the orphanage. The scenes from the bus were really difficult to take in. We in America have this illusion that we know what poverty looks like. We've rolled through tough neighborhoods and have seen people holding cardboard signs at intersections. But this is a different level of poverty. Children - babies - forced to beg on the streets. Their eyes look vacant as they struggle to ... It has been several months since I returned home from Guatemala. But the memories remain sharp in my mind.
