My son came in with a scrapped knee. Hard as I tried, I could not kiss his little tears away. How much I wanted to absorb his pain and make it all better! Of course, that's what mothers do. We never want our children to hurt. For Zee Mink-Fuller, watching her daughter Shannon Faith Armstrong undergo the pain of breast cancer was almost unbearable. Although she cared for her, she wanted to do more. She became an avenger for the cure when she created Pink Outlaw. I had the privilege of interviewing Zee and her daughter Shannon and learned more about how Pink Outlaw is helping others from the battle trenches of cancer! Q: So, what is a Pink Outlaw? A: Pink Outlaw is a survivor, their family, friends and truly anyone who wants to join in the fight to KILL cancer! Q: How did you become Pink Outlaws? Shannon: "I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 35. I was angry, scared, confused and did not know who to go to or where to go. Three years after coming through my dark tunnel, I had a vision-Pink Outlaw. I want to make a difference by sharing my experiences in order to help and support other survivors." Zee: "I am the mother of a survivor and I want to give support to all survivors and their caregivers. I believe in the "Pay It Forward" philosophy. Sometimes making a difference means being a little different yourself". Q: Shannon, I heard you moved back in with your mother after many years of being on your own. How did that work for you? Shannon:" I learned how to truly hone my survivor skills!!!" Zee: "Hey! All mothers are survivors!! I never really suffered from the "empty nest" syndrome!! Q: Exactly how do you plan to make a difference? A: Pink Outlaw is in its infancy, but we have a very large dream of being in the position to contribute funds toward cancer research and finding a cure. We have supported many cancer charities, walks and programs in the past and are looking forward to making a huge difference. We also want to make a powerful presence in supporting all survivors, families and friends. Q: How do you financially support Pink Outlaw? Zee: "I am a true "junker". I buy and resale antiques, collectibles and junk of all sorts. I have no preferences as to what I buy. I will buy anything I think I will be able to sell for a profit. (Legal , of courseJ) I have done this for years and am now dedicated to using these profits to promote Pink Outlaw. Zee and Shannon say that Outlaws are avengers and do not conform. "We refuse to conform to cancer and we are avengers for those who are affected." Fight on ladies! Fight on! Guest / Guests Names: Shannon Faith Armstrong & Zee Mink-Fuller
