I am not trying to brag, but we did have a pretty perfect Thanksgiving. The highlight was a touch football game with all family members. The Smith’s pulled out a win over the McCoy’s in what could only be described as a nail biting Hail-Mary throw in overtime. This was followed by prolonged periods of abuse by the Smith family as they chanted “D-O-M-I-N-A-T-I-O-N” to the point where it was no longer funny and bordering obnoxious. The food was good and yours truly was able to pull off a homemade lemon meringue pie. The sad part is that no one believed that I actually baked the pie and I was grilled for fifteen minutes on where the pie really came from. In general, the day was a success. In fact, I'm toying with the idea of hosting Thanksgiving, turkey and all the fixins, at my place next year.... on second thought - maybe I'm getting a little too cocky. After all, I shouldn't not let one successful lemon meringue pie go to my head. |
