I have a confession to make…. my three-year-old is not potty trained. It’s not that he doesn’t know what the potty is and how to use it – it’s more that his mommy is lazy and isn’t consistent with his training. Now keep in mind, my whole “Not-So-Perfect Parent” status is like my get-out-of-jail-free card. I completely acknowledge that I am anything but perfect in all things but especially in parenting. Still, I need to step this thing up because pre-school is starting in two weeks! My mother (who would love me if I made grass baskets for a living) tells me to relax and not worry about it. “After all, honey, you are not going to send him off to college in diapers.” But among my peer group, potty training is a point of pride. “Madison was potty trained at 18 months!” “Conner stopped going big potty in his diaper when he was two!” When these conversations start, I sniff around for my son in case a dirty diaper gives away my dirty little secret. I will say, however, that I have at least broached the subject with my three-year-old and talked about how much fun it will be wearing Big Boy underwear. He didn’t seem convinced. I have a few other tricks up my sleeve so stay tuned. I will keep you posted on my progress. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
My friend's little boy just completed potty training and insists on wearing his big boy underwear backwards so he can see the designs. How great is that?!
