We are leaving for our Spring Break vacation this evening. We’re not going to the Bahamas or to Aspen. No, ladies and gentlemen, we are off to Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I can hardly contain my excitement. I mean, Fort Wayne, home of the Lincoln Museum and the Allen County Fairgrounds – what could be more thrilling? My husband and I are traveling with our two children on an airplane the size of a minivan to 35 degree weather. The flight takes off at 6:00 and I figure I can start drinking at 3:30.

So why are we going to Fort Wayne? My husband is a consultant and does a lot of work in that area. He thought it would be fun for the family to join him. So, while he is at the office, I will be in a rented apartment with my two children for eight hours.

I am trying to be positive. This will be great family time – as long as I don’t catch a dose of cabin fever and go completely nuts.
