Thank God it's over! I no longer have to keep up with the super-hero cape and I can get rid of the pumpkins that are rotting on my porch. It has been a long Halloween season. We have been to festivals, and hayrides, and bounce houses, and haunted houses. By the time the last trick-or-treater came to my door, I loaded the lucky little pirate with all of my remaining candy and shut it down. Of course, that was just the beginning of my night as I tried to peel my two kids off of the wall and begin the detox with a glass of milk and wheat toast. But, you know, it's not really over. We will be munching on Halloween candy until Christmas when I will toss out the dried Marshmallow Ghosts to make room for the Candy Canes. Even though the department stores are calling, I am going to take one week of seasonal down time before gearing up for Santa. My body and brain need a break! |
