Don't tell Dave the Garden Guy...
but I knicked some of his figs -- just four! I was in the garden for an AZ Family BBQ, when I spied them on the fig tree, luscious and deep indigo. I plucked them from the tree, wrapped them in a napkin, and spirited them home. They went to a good cause.
The first two were made into a late afternoon snack this past Saturday. I did a lot of work around the house, and pretty much skipped lunch, but it was too close to dinner to eat anything big. I sliced them up, put a small blop of light cream cheese on each, and wrapped them with small pieces of prosciutto.
To make thing a little more interesting, in a few, I placed a basil leaf. In others, I put a small dab of sambal oelek -- for that sweet / spicy thing. The rest I left plain, which was actually my favorite. They all went great with a nice glass of tropical iced tea.

The other two, I had this morning as a late breakfast. I used them to top some fat free honey-almond yogurt, along with some sliced almonds. I probably won't be ready for lunch until 2pm!

Thanks for the healthy snacks, Dave!
