Susan G Komen for the Cure

My family, friends and I are promoting October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month! The promise of Susan G Komen for the Cure is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all, and energizing science to find the cures. The vision is a WORLD WITHOUT BREAST CANCER.
The 5th Annual "Get Tied to the Cure" event was a huge success. My husband Thomas and I helped tie 800 pink ribbons on cars at a Safeway parking lot in Tucson. The event had free on-site mobile mammography, informative Komen materials, and counseling on local services.
At the Komen Committee meeting the staff announced my nomination as Honorary Chair! Thank you so much for the Race Directors and staff! My duties include generating media coverage, targeting potential sponsors, and speaking to civic organizations, schools and businesses to help recruit participants and volunteers for the Race.
The Girls Night Out Shopping Extravaganza "Shop for the Cure" at Loews Ventana Resort was also a success. Proceeds benefit the Southern Arizona Affiliate of the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and it will help in the funding of much needed programs. To find out more, please visit their website.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Race on April 6th, 2008!

Diane-I am certainly proud of you and Thomas for your cause with Breast Cancer Awareness. The more we can reach the more that can be aware and life's saved. With love, Aunt Connie and Uncle Wayne.
