Congratulations to the new Mrs. America, Kelly McBee!
Best of luck to you on your amazing journey ahead! I had such a blast these past two weeks with the David and Elaine Marmel, Bob, Di, Basheva, and the staff. Thank you so much for another successful event. My husband Thomas, my parents, Grandma Mary, and cousin Jennifer enjoyed attending dinners and rehearsals. It was a pleasure for us to get to know all 51 contestants. The night before the pageant, the "Class of 2006" Mrs. America contestants went out for
dinner at Firebirds for our reunion party! We had our '06 representatives from ID, NE, NV, MI, MN, IL, KS and CO. Jennifer from NE and Liz from ID looked so cute with their little baby tummies!
Mrs. LA won the costume competition hands down with a glamorous Queen of Mardi Gras dazzler. Mrs. VT was voted Mrs. Congeniality and IL won Mrs. Photogenic. The initial top 10 were announced: WY, AL, KY, NE, CO, MD, ID, NM, OK and LA.
Then, the additional FIVE (they had a five-way tie!) were announced: VT, SC, DC, TN, and UT. Then, the top 15 came out in swimsuit and even had the option of wearing a 2-piece in semifinals this year! After that, it was narrowed down to 10: ID, SC, NE, WY, MD, OK, AL, KY, TN, NM. Then, it was down to top five: NE, WY, OK, TN, and NM. The Top 3 who had the most votes for getting back in were MN, CA, AZ!!! The Arizona crowd was so excited for Tracy. Tracy we are all so proud of you! You are so beautiful inside and out and everyone loves you. CA was one to be voted back into the top 6. The on-stage questions didn't make it any easier for the judges... they all did really well. They had the choice of answering a personal or public question. Then, it was time for a coronation!
