The National Anthem Project!
I had an amazing day at Painted Sky Elementary School in Oro Valley, Arizona. I spoke to Mrs. Purvis's 2nd grade classroom and the PAL after-school program. The students were so excited when I asked for three volunteers to stand in the front of the classroom with me to lead the Star-Spangled Banner. Alexis, Luis, and Heather were so excited to show off their beautiful voices and help other students learn the correct words to our National Anthem. Then I explained to the students the importance of knowing American History and promoted "Character Counts." I read a short story titled "Honest Abe" from the book, "The Children's Book of Heros." Thank you so much to the Rebaza family, Mrs. Purvis, Sabrina, and Kirsta.

I have always watched the pagents as a little girl and have always wanted to meet a beauty queen. Thank you for being a part of the Rally for A Cure. My late bestfriend's mother is a brest cancer survivor and I know that it was causes like this that helped her get to where she is today! Again thank you!
