The Morning After the Pageant

The morning after the pageant, I met with David Marmel, CEO of Mrs. America, Elaine Marmel, Senior VP, Bob Mazza, Executive VP Marketing, and Diane Ritter, Executive Director of Mrs. AZ and Mrs. UT. I'm so lucky to work with kind, intelligent, motivating people. I'm really looking forward to this amazing year. This is going to be a wonderful opportunity to speak about "Breast Cancer Awareness" and "The National Anthem Project."

Thank you so much to 9.37 KRQ Radio, 1330 am The JOLT, Mortgage Daily, Arizona Daily Star, The Explorer, Tucson Citizen, and Sierra Vista Herald, and Channel 13 for the interviews.

My family and I went out to dinner at the Claim Jumper restaurant and I was asked to get my picture taken with the Task Force Stonewall Virginia Army National Guard. It was a pleasure meeting Calvin, Greg, and Scott. Thank you for serving our country.

Yesterday morning I was in my office returning my 200 voicemails and 300 emails! I have the best family and friends. By afternoon, my husband offered to take me for a drive.

Thomas, our dog Beau, and I drove to Mount Lemmon to hike some trails. It was a beautiful day and we had a blast!

Morning Interview

This morning I had my interview with the celebrity judges! The judges were very pleasant and kind and I had a great time! Right after my interview, my Executive Director Diane Ritter was so sweet to take me to my favorite "Ra Sushi" restaurant for lunch. It was so much fun to catch-up with her and tell her all about the interview. I love spending time with my Di! At dinner I was approached by Mrs. Pennsylvania's beautiful daughters, Jacqueline and Julia, who wanted our autographs. They started a trend in the Ventana restaurant and every little girl there asked for our autographs. They were so cute!

When I came back to my room I was so surprised to see a beautiful bouquet of peach and white roses from my Mrs. Arizona friends. Thank you so much Debbie Lee, Molly, Shanna, Helena, Cathy, Tracy, Britt, Carolyn, Marisa, and Terres. Thank you to my friends Ozzie, Tracy H., Helena, Stacey, Dianne, Cathy, Diana, Hannah, Amy and Arash, and the Fryer family for my amazing cards. And thanks to Shanna, Jaime, and Paula for my faxes. I feel so fortunate to have such amazing support.

Dancing!

Last night the Mrs. America contestants had a blast dancing at the Buddha Lounge at the resort. I ran into Steve, my co-worker, and he was at a barmitzvah party down the hallway. He and his wife Courtney asked if I'd dance the first dance with birthday boy. We danced to the "There's She Is Miss America" song! The contestants and I had a blast at the lounge and all of us danced to my favorite "80's" music. This morning we had rehearsal to get ready for the preliminary night, tonight! I'm really looking forward to seeing my family and friends!

Wow! I can't believe the pageant is tomorrow already!

Prelim night went really well. Thank you so much to my family and friends for all your support. Thank you to Alison for the beautiful crown picture frame and bracelet, Ozzie for your helpful advice, and Angie and Mona for your patience with fighting humidity and blow drying my hair! Thank you so much to my Director Di for the beautiful angel ornament and beaded Arizona flag purse. Thank you to Patti and Jason for the sweet note and flowers. It was too wonderful to see the Aceto family yesterday. They are the Directors for the Mrs. Illinois Pageant and their daughter Julie also works for Argent Mortgage.

Julie is an Account Executive in Chicago and one of the top reps. It was so fun to see her little dog, Bebe, with a little crown on her head. Rehearsals all day today from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Yikes!

Looking forward to seeing you again tomorrow.
