Our Penguin Christmas Posted December 29, 2006
I love having friends that are world record holders because they are always looking for things that are different and outside the proverbial box. So too is the case with how I found my latest adventure.
Fast talking my way to Number One in Twenty Four hours Posted December 22, 2006
For the past four years I have been doing my fast talking rendition of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" on both radio and TV shows during the holiday season.
This year, with my ever increasing desire to keep working my way up the Internet ladder… from doing basic email newsletters, to blogs, to audio podcasts to webcasts…I decided it was time to upload some comedic audio and video files to a comedy site. The site I chose was Jib Jab. Now of course I have a Myspace site and website (who doesn’t)…but I wanted my work to be out there amongst other funny videos.
It's that time again! The department stores seem to think Halloween-Thanksgiving-Hanukkah-Christmas is all one holiday, and needs to be advertised as such, as there seems to be no breather in between the holidays.
I mean, do we really need to know there are only 18 days to Christmas and that New Years is just around the corner? Do they think December 25th is going to roll around, and we'll smack ourselves on the heads and say, "Oh wow, I almost forgot, Christmas is on the same day every year!" We really don't need the stores to remind us of the holidays - our kids do just fine. Not to mention that every arts and craft holiday project from school representing the holidays is stuck on your refrigerator.
This is an expensive time of year, when we take out a second mortgage on our house to pay for all the wants and desires of the little ones in our lives. And let's not forget all the useless presents we have to get for every relative we think might buy us something equally as useless in return. Do I really need another adorable unicorn knickknack to dust, just because ten years ago I mentioned I love unicorns? I think not.
So folks I think if you want to save your wallet and avoid the January credit card headaches, it's time to get creative. It's time to pull out all the stops and put the family values and fun back into the holidays. How? Here are some humorous gift ideas that are cost-effective, fun and don't require an extension on your home to store them.
A Very Unusual Outing in More Ways Than One. Posted December 8, 2006
It all started when Woman's World sent photographer, Paul Schiraldi to my house to do a four hour photo shoot for an upcoming article that will appear in the January 07' issue.
While we were shooting we were talking (What a surprise, me talking during a photo shoot!) and Paul mentioned that he just lost 25 pounds on this Miracle Cleanse diet. I had no clue what that was, but losing 25 pounds (and then not finding them again) sounded good to me.
