Fran's World…and Welcome to It!
A Blog by the World's Fastest Talking Female.

Fear nothing... but if you do, do it anyway
Posted April 15, 2006

Hi, my name is Fran Capo and I've been asked to write a blog about my life. A blog just for you so we can all get to know each other. So I think the first order of business is to introduce myself. Why? Because it makes sense and how the heck are you gonna know if you want to read about my life, if you don't know who I am?

Okay, so here's the quick version, the version I use when I introduce myself
to the world. I'm a stand up comic, motivational speaker, voice over artist, nine-time author, and three-time world record holder.
Mount Kilamanjaro
Besides being the Guinness Book of World Records fastest talking female, I am also the only author to hold a book signing, at the top of the world - on Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa (19,340 feet up), and in the depths of the sea, down by the wreck site of the Titanic - yes, the real wreck site that you see in the movie the Titanic (12, 340 feet down). I went in that tiny - 7 foot submersible, was there for 12 hours…and there is no bathroom!

But, I'm not just about adventure. I'm also a single mom. I have a 17 year-old son, Spencer. Spencer is also a stand up comic, been doing it since he is two…yup, his first time on stage was at the Tropicana in Vegas. He saw me onstage, asked if he could go on. At first I was upset, "Hey, kid it took me 10 years to get here, what do you think you have, connections?" The manager overheard Spencer's request and said, "Put the kid on!" Typical Vegas fashion. So next thing I know, I'm teaching my two-year-old a Richard Nixon impression, and bringing him on stage.

spencerHe got laughs, was hooked and has been doing stand up ever since. He even came with me a few years ago to Okinawa to do shows for the Marines. It was at that very moment he decided he liked Japanese women and has been studying the language in hopes to return one day, in hopes of getting a date. In the meantime, he is into martial arts, writes poetry, works out, and is gorgeous…okay a proud mom talking… (that’s him in the picture… not a bad looking kid, huh?) Come on, just say yes and make me happy. He also goes on a bunch of my adventures with me. The running joke is that he is going to grow up to be a mattress salesman, just so he can get some rest.
