I haven't seen this exhibit yet, but I did get to see the one sculpture called (Untitled) Seated Woman and I was absolutely captivated. The exhibit opened yesterday and runs through October 21st.
From The Modern's website: Ron Mueck’s Untitled (Seated Woman), 1999, in the Modern’s permanent collection, became a community favorite when it was first put on exhibit for the opening of the Modern’s new building in 2002. Since that time, the Museum has continued to receive numerous comments, e-mail messages, and inquiries from visitors about this much-loved work of art. Thirteen works will be on view in the special exhibition, including Untitled (Seated Woman), 1999; the critically acclaimed Dead Dad, 1996–97, a scrupulously rendered, three-foot-long sculpture of the artist’s father lying naked on the floor; In Bed, 2005/6, a twenty-foot sculpture of a woman lying tucked in bed; and Baby, 2000, a ten-inch-long newborn infant. A thirty-minute video showing the artist at work will also be part of the exhibition, along with examples of his working materials and casts.
I'm a regular with theThursday-night lineup of Scrubs, 30 Rock, and The Office. Rest of the week? Not so funny.
So it's great to have another comedy to love, finally. Notes From the Underbelly stars Jennifer Westfeldt (an actress I loved in Kissing Jessica Stein, one of my favorite girlie movies of all time) as a guidance counselor in L.A. who is pregnant for the first time. Her husband and close girlfriends (one a hard-driving lawyer, another a trend-happy homemaker who has just had a child) are a bit more quirky and true-to-life than you usually see in sitcom land.
It's on Wednesdays before Lost, so it's also good to have something light to enjoy before going down that rabbit hole.
Besides the fact that I just LOVE "Campus Ladies" anyway.....here is a site that shows all their funny outtakes when taping the show. Love it!

I love this song from Anya Marina -- and it's no surprise that it's been in Grey's Anatomy - another thing I love. Miss Halfway is a great acoustic song...so mellow, yet so cheery. I have no idea what she is actually saying, but I still love it!
I took my children to see "The Last Mimzy" this weekend and I loved it. It was so engaging, my mind didn't drift even once....I saw 300 the night before and I was redecorating my house in my head the whole time...except when I was admiring Gerard Butler's new physique. But, I digress.
I highly suggest seeing it - I really do think it is as good as E.T. .... magical and such a good example of a supportive, loving family. See it!!

I love this song...I'm a little late to the party, but a friend of mine played it for me the other day and now I am hooked.
Most gals probably have no idea who Gordon Keith is. But ask a few guy friends and they'll probably start laughing to themselves before they answer you. "Gordo" as he's known on the popular radio station "The Ticket" (see? That's why most of us don't know this guy) just started a new TV show.
These three women have to be some of the funniest women I have ever listened to. I don't even know how to describe them. You MUST check them out on XM radio at 4-7 PM daily. I have learned lots of new words listening to them. Be prepared..they curse and they will say anything! Self-described: "Meet the Broads - real-life friends Shari, Molly, and Christine, three points of view, one helluva good time". They are on the Take Five XM 155.
I have been listening to the Answer Bitch on XM Radio Channel 162 for more than a year. If you like an acerbic wit and are interested in Hollywood, you will love it! Check her out on Eonline.com or XM. You can download the podcast and take it on the go, you can listen/watch online or just listen on XM!
