Usually, I'm looking forward to the weekend. It's a time to relax, but this weekend, I have a lot going on. First, I'm helping a relative move (always a joy) and then on Sunday, I get a real treat - throwing out the first pitch at the Astros game against the Brew Crew. Everyone's been giving me plenty of advice. The key seems to be reaching back far like I'm trying to launch a whip. They say it's the longest 60 feet you'll ever throw something and I can't wait. As for the weather - what a wild scene it's been across the country! There have been nasty tornadoes from Kansas to Missouri last night and into northeast Texas and Arkansas today. It's all part of a large pinwheel of weather anchored in the middle of the country. On the back side of that pinwheel, there's snow falling in western Nebraska and eastern Colorado! Where are we? At the tail end of a cold front that will touch off a few showers tonight and then fizzle. As the front slips off the coast, drier air will move in for Saturday night and Sunday. The weather should be just fine for baseball Sunday and hopefully, a 'Stros victory will follow my first pitch. I hope you enjoy whatever you're doing this weekend. |
