First the family and I would like to thank everyone who has already emailed with ideas, leads, suggestions and offers of help. This whole situation is very frustrating for us, as it is for millions of other families right now. First I would like to say that I'm in no way trying to cast Wal-Mart in a negative light... I think it's more of a contrast between what I was doing last year and what I'm doing now. They were the ones who stepped up and offered me a job, and I'm appreciative of them for that. My management there has been very flexible with my schedule so I can work two jobs, and they didn't have to do that. I'm struggling with Countrywide/Bank of America, supposedly the new "mortgage relief" plans were put into place March 4th, and Countrywide is just now figuring out what they are going to do. I've been to all the Government websites and regardless of what they say, your lender doesn't have to help you even if you qualify due to the "rules" set by whichever investment group owns your paper... so no help as of yet. I am hoping the right company will look past my industry and see a role for me where they can use (and benefit from) my leadership and business experience. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you all.

I am sure this situation has to be extremely difficult for you. It probably feels terrible to have been layed off after so many years. Probably feels very similar to the way all those people felt whose jobs you helped export to India while working for CSC. Wonder if they got all the attention you're getting?

That's a low blow, Martin. Perhaps Mr. Sphar didn't have a choice in the matter. When upper management tells you to outsource, you outsource. Even if it was his decision, how do you know he didn't struggle with it?
Good luck to you in your job search, Mr. Sphar.
